Eyes Lips Eyes, formerly known as Elizabethan Report (ER), is a spirited indie/alternative rock band which formed in Provo, Utah. They stuffed their bags and headed to the West Coast and introduced California to their aggressive new-wave musical style that has elements of punk rock, pop and funk influences. They create a style that generates a chaotic yet controlled substance. The band is influenced by All-American rock bands such as the Talking Heads, The Strokes and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Syd Straw with ER
If your mouse is hovering over the play icon above, you're about to view one of the highlights of last weekend's Santa Ynez Days Festival at the Jones House. After a day of great performances, Syd Straw joined ER onstage for a performance of Psycho Killer. Syd was nothing short of the darling of Saturday's festival, drawing the crowd in with her humble wit and musical storytelling. Still recovering from being ill in the past weeks, I think Syd's performance captured the vibe of the whole festival: a feeling of gratitude for being a part of something really really great.
For those who don't know, Syd is kind of a big deal. She's been a back up singer for Pat Benetar, and she was in the Golden Palominos with Michael Stipe of R.E.M. and Matthew Sweet. One of those GP albums even featured Jack Bruce from the band Cream. She's released a few solo albums. Check her out at sydstraw.com.
