Leftover Campfire Video

Going through some old footage, we found this video of Soy Sauce Sailor being played under a pool slide. Daniel Sripuntanagoon was the director of photography (while Andrew Craig did some additional camera help). It was edited by Tony Hello.

Thursday night (New Year's) we're in Salt Lake for their street festival. Instead of calling it First Night like in years past, they're calling it EVE. That's cool, just watch out for future rebrands. Salt Lake Library will change to 'Read,' and new post office boxes will be called 'Mail.' You have to pronounce it with a breathy, low voice to really get the vision. Anyway, we're pumped to play. Who wants to party?

Christmas song moving around

New things:

Our song I Slept in Through Christmas is making its way around the blogoverse. It's been in the Twin Cities' Gimmenoise's A very hipster Christmas mix, as well as Utah's own Velour Family Holiday Compliation, which you can download for free here. Also, middleclasswhitenoise threw the video up on their blog.

In case you missed it, you can download I Slept in Through Christmas for free by going to our store at and entering promo code NewYearsSLC in the box.

Bear Trap: A Video for a Music

What happens when you combine Eyes Lips Eyes with an unhealthy obsession for the Terminator films? You get the Bear Trap music video. It marks the directorial debut of photographer-extraordinaire Marcello Ambriz. The special effects were done by Will Kindrick. It stars Matt Heder, Tejah Signori, Catherine Card, Melanie Warner, and Haylie Hoopes. Unfortunately, Arnold Schwarzenegger was unable to make an appearance.

Mmm hmm. In case you missed it, here's the music video to our Christmas song, "I Slept in Through Christmas."

It was directed by Robbie Petersen and stars various nutcrackers and christmas mugs.

Blue Red Month 6: Bear Trap

Here it is, the sixth month of Blue Red, our 'no album' concept. The single this month is Bear Trap.

Right now, Thomas is in Nevada, Tony is in Utah, and Spencer and I are in the Cube, drilling together a bunch of demos. We have drums, bass, guitar, and vocal mics set up and recording at all times, so if we're running through a song and I have a drum idea, I can jump over and hit it. We're feeling loose, we're feeling real creative right now, so you might here some nice things real soon. Maybe even a 'top pick' or two.

Coming up soon: a new episode of The Tom and Spencer Show, an Eyes Lips Eyes christmas song, the Bear Trap music video, New Year's Eve in Salt Lake City at Eve (this year's First Night), and more.

Episode One: The Tom and Spence Show

Practice. Work. Destroy.

Where's my band?

Check out this blog: middleclasswhitenoise. They had some good things to say about 'Tickle.'

I went to sleep last night expecting to wake up to Spencer's head and a bundle of Thomas, but no such luck is mine. I seriously have no idea where they are! Can someone give me a clue? I'm about to go practice with Toy Bombs for their show tonight at Silverlake Lounge with Chasing Kings, maybe they'll be over there? Or maybe they're on a beach somewhere? Or at a train station?

This is going to be a magic week. We're writing the next few singles. If you want any words put in the lyrics, put them in the comments. Thanks, babe.

Campfire Video 3/4: Bad Bad Whiskey

Video 3 of 4 in Campfire, our new EP released for Thanksgiving weekend. This one was directed by Thomas Carroll. Give him your props on Facebook.

CAMPFIRE Video 2/4: I Think I Care

The second video of the new album, "Campfire." Daniel Sripuntanagoon was the director of photography for the campfire video for I Think I Care (while Andrew Craig assisted with some additional camera work). It was edited by Tony Hello.

This is not a normal album, however. It was recorded in various Los Angeles backyards using only a 2-track tape machine. There are no overdubs; what you hear is just the live performance.

Happy Thanksgiving = Happy New Album

You heard correctly. In honor of one of the best holidays, we've released a new album: Campfire. Therein you'll find acoustic renditions of old favorites and our very own rendition of the classic blues diddy, Bad Bad Whiskey. We'll be releasing music videos for each song, the first of which is Pretty, which you may view above. Daniel Sripuntanagoon was the director of photography for the campfire video for Pretty (while Andrew Craig assisted with some additional camera work). It was edited by Tony Hello.

You can get the album for free. Just recommend it to someone and post the announcement of your recommendation on our Facebook page. Or if you'd rather buy it, you can use iTunes or our online store.

Simple Economics video

Tony's gone for Thanksgiving, so it's time to misbehave. Let's start by posting this alternate version of the Simple Economics video. It's the director's cut.

Also, we have a very special announcement for our Utah fans. We're going to be playing Salt Lake City's First Night on New Year's Eve. This year they're just calling it Eve. Details soon, but we are playing the night of the 31st. Ring in the New Year with us, it'll be a ball.

Things have been crazy around here. Thomas has been interviewing us with a flip camera spontaneously throughout the day. Like, really spontaneously. He attacks when we least expect it. And somehow there are shards of shattered lightbulbs on the ground in the last week. This morning, some workers bleached our hall, so it kind of smells like a pool in here - a pool filled with chlorine and chicken broth.

We're just about to write the next big hits, though. We're combing through a bunch of ideas recorded on our cell phones, tape players, and rehearsal takes. Good things to come, I can smell it. These are the good times, people!

Making Simple Economics

Next week, we'll be releasing the music video for Simple Economics, directed by THE Will Kindrick. We're so excited about the video, we thought we'd give you a little teaser. Enjoy.

Anti-Pickle

It's fun to check out all the little Eyes Lips Eyes things going on.

Anti-Pickle Consortium took some amazing photographs on real film of our Halloween show at the Queen Mary in Long Beach last weekend.

Last Day of Tour

Tour photographer Marcello Ambriz says:

This Halloween i went to see the last JUST FRIENDS TOUR date. It awesome seeing this tour come to a close in Long Beach California. Toy Bombs and Eyes Lips Eyes played at the Queen Mary for their yearly haunted house/boat/house/dome thing. They had "haunted" mazes that we explored after their sets. I wasn't THAT scared going through the mazes, but i would still like to apologize to the people who's feet I stepped on trying to avoid those zombies hidden behind corners.
enough of my typing... here are the photos.
hope you enjoy.

The switch over... Psycho Killer!

Just in time for the election. Simple Economics. The new Blue Red single.

It's not political. It's just economical. And not only that, but it answers exactly what toucans can and can't do.

Simple Economics is new Blue Red single for the month of November.

You can purchase it on iTunes or on the online store.

Music Video for October's B-Side - A Good Swimmer

It's not normal for us to release a music video to accompany a B-side release, but this song was feeling particularly close to our hearts. Tony Hello was so inspired, in fact, that he shot and edited it in just over a week.

If you like what you hear, you can purchase the song on iTunes or on our online store.
