We workin' y'all, we workin'. February 20 is when it's all going to come down. We're finishing mixes, edits, and having a wonderful time. We're meeting with our designer Jesse Royston, who is fabulous. I've always thought fabulous has some physical connotations, something about faaaab, like it's a slab of meat on someone's body that's grown too fat. But Jesse's not fat, she's awesome. She even let Spencer and I eat some of her granola. But she's not a granola like you might be thinking. I mean, what is she? Maybe her blog will satiate our curiosity. It says there that she's "no stranger to hurricanes," from which we might parlay many meanings. Elizabethan Report isn't a stranger to Jesse, are we a hurricane? Je pense que oui. Other than all her cool art and that brief bio, her blog leaves our question unanswered still. Maybe when she's done with our album art, we'll know more.
ER played three shows this month, one in Rexburg, one at our home venue Velour, and one on campus at BYU. We did not puke at any of our shows, though we did puke for joy while watching the Neon Trees in Rexburg.
Have a wonderful time today!
Eyes Lips Eyes, formerly known as Elizabethan Report (ER), is a spirited indie/alternative rock band which formed in Provo, Utah. They stuffed their bags and headed to the West Coast and introduced California to their aggressive new-wave musical style that has elements of punk rock, pop and funk influences. They create a style that generates a chaotic yet controlled substance. The band is influenced by All-American rock bands such as the Talking Heads, The Strokes and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
